Effective small business marketing is strategic not tactical. It takes a plan with a system behind it. Just throwing up ads is not enough if you do not have a strong call to action. And then if that call to action just says call me you have once again failed because people will not call. you need more than call me or visit my website. The call to action leads the buyer down a road that leads to the buy. But of course, it cannot be over bearing, stereotypical sales man. It has to be a process that educates along the way and in the end -- the customer cannot imagine buying from anyone else.
When you put together an effective small business marketing plan it is strategic in that it uses tactics in a strategic system.
